Spinal Cord Injury – Muir v. City of Brantford
May 7, 2010
Our client was rendered a quadriplegic after losing control of his bike. He was attempting to avoid two pedestrians who were traveling towards him from the side of the bike trail along the Grand River in the City of Brantford. Where the accident happened, the trail was surrounded by loose rocks and boulders and had little to no recovery zone. The City of Brantford was responsible for the trail. The City was ultimately found to be negligent for failing to notice and address unraveling pavement and loose rocks and boulders in such a dangerous location on the trail.
The Plaintiff was found to have some contributory negligence for the accident. The Court awarded our client $1,116,220.70.
